Scratch n Win Gamebook | Meerkats
Here's the latest TV commercial I have been fortunate to work on for ZZ Productions and Meerkats.
A 30 second spot flicking through the various games in the lottery book as a pop up style animation.
Thanks to Ben Young, Maggie Speak from ZZ and Paul, Jon, Nic Sophie and Sue from Meerkats.
Modelling/Animation/Lighting+Rendering | Paul Siciliano
Making of examples of a scene from the TVC.
This was a fantastic project for us to work on right from the start. An excellent client that was as excited as we were about the process and end result.
We started with some initial sketches that put everything in progression, as there was a lot to show in a short amount of time. We then moved on to a shaded 3D previsualisation animatic with a fantastic voiceover by Kahlia Siciliano.
We then rendered out some keyframes as a style guide for the end look and feel.
The final images were rendered in full HD, then all elements were comped and graded. Soundbyte provided the final audio and sound effects.
Many thanks to Malcolm MacLean, Dave Elliott, Annette Hasluck and the team from CBH Group.
15 SEC TVC FOR SCRATCH N WIN | MEERKATS
Staccato started working with the guys at Meerkats and roughed out the pinball machine 3D model geography. Once we were all happy with the physical layout, we then moved on to exploring different colour pallets and patterns for the final look. All textures were hand painted with multiple layers of detail for dirt/scatches and illumination. We then got started on the actual animation choreography sequence. The project was rendered in full HD using Vray as the renderer of choice for this type of look.

Here are some example frames of the process from the Pinball TVC

Staccato would like to thank everyone at Meerkats for this fantastic opportunity, especially Nicole Beer, Bree Smolinsky and Caitlin Malony.
